Sweet Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. prunes
    2 c. raisins
    1 c. apricots or apples or both
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. instant tapioca
    1 stick cinnamon
    lemon, thinly sliced (optional)
    cherries (optional)
    2 qt. water or juice (cherry, apple, etc.)
Preparation
    Soak fruit in a covered kettle overnight.
    Cook slowly for at least 45 minutes, adding sugar and tapioca.
    This should have a thick consistency, but if too thick, add water.
    Serve hot or cold.
