Turnip Greens - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 cured ham hock or 1 small chunk cured pork side meat
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black or red pepper
1 bunch fresh turnips
4 c. water
Preparation

Place meat and water in a large pot along with salt, pepper and sugar.
Boil until meat is almost cooked.
Remove from heat. Cut roots off of turnip, peel and slice.
Remove stems from turnip top.
Put roots and tops together and wash several times. Place in pot with meat and cook 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
Add more water if needed.
