Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. quick (not instant) oats
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar
1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1 stick margarine, softened
2 large eggs or 3 medium
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, pour boiling water over oats.
Let stand for 10 minutes.
Stir in sugar and margarine.
Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture.
Add vanilla. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch dish.
Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of coarsely chopped nuts over the top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
Cool before cutting.
