Soul-Style Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 dark sweet potatoes (medium size), peeled and cut into 1/4-inch slices
1/2 c. water
5 c. white sugar
1 stick butter
Preparation

Rinse the potato slices in ample water and drain.
Place in a 2-quart covered saucepan and add the water, sugar and butter. Cover and simmer until very tender, about 30 minutes.
Do not stir during the cooking process.
