Brenda Carnes' Kentucky Butter Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. plain flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. butter, softened
    2 tsp. rum extract
    4 eggs
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and extract.
    Mix dry ingredients; add alternately with buttermilk.
    Beat 3 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 12-cup tube pan.
    Bake for 55 to 70 minutes in preheated 325\u00b0 oven.
    Top with Butter Sauce as soon as cake is done.
