Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. raisins
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Mix ingredients.
Pour sauce in 9 x 13-inch pan (or smaller). Drop dumplings in sauce.
Bake at 500\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes. Dumplings will puff up.
A wonderful, quick and very old recipe.
