Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. cut up fryer
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. flour
    2 thinly sliced onion rings
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    2 crushed garlic cloves
    16 oz. can drained tomatoes
    8 oz. can tomato sauce
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 oz. can sliced, drained mushrooms
    1/4 c. oregano
Preparation
    Wash chicken; pat dry.
    Melt shortening in large skillet. Coat chicken with flour; cook in hot shortening until brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.
    Set aside.
