Coconut Butter Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. pecan halves
    1 egg white
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 c. flaked coconut
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy.
    Blend flour (sifted) and salt; stir into creamed mixture, blending thoroughly.
    If dough is soft, chill until firm enough to shape.
    With fingers, shape a rounded teaspoonful of dough around each pecan half (cut very large pecan halves in two) to form 1-inch balls.
    Beat egg white and water with fork.
    Dip dough in egg white mixture, then in coconut.
    Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Yields 5 dozen.
