Fruit Float - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. self-rising flour
    3/4 c. milk
    2 c. fruit (apples, pears, cherries, sweetened blackberries, peaches or any fruit desired)
    spices, if desired
Preparation
    Melt margarine in a long or square Pyrex dish (1 1/2-quart size); sift the flour together with the sugar and spices.
    Add milk and stir until smooth.
    Pour into melted butter in Pyrex dish, but do not stir.
    Distribute the fruit over top of butter; do not stir.
    Bake for 35 minutes at 375\u00b0.
