Ingredients

2 c. milk
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. oleo
1 tsp. vanilla
salt to taste
3 eggs, separated
2 1/2 Tbsp. flour
2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation

Combine sugar, salt, flour and cornstarch; mix well.
Slowly add milk, mixing well.
Cook over medium heat in heavy saucepan, stirring to prevent scorching and lumping.
When mixture thickens, add oleo and vanilla.
Then slowly add beaten egg yolks.
Cook until thick and cool a few minutes and pour into a baked pie shell. Cover with meringue and sprinkle coconut on top.
Brown in slow oven.
