Corn Meal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter or shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. plain flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. yellow corn meal (plain)
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and vanilla.
    Mix well. Sift the next 4 ingredients together.
    Add to first mixture.
    Form or divide into 2 rolls and refrigerate a few hours.
    Overnight is better.
    Slice thin and bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
