Deep Dish Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 frozen pie crust, baked (9-inch)
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/3 c. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 can evaporated milk (1 2/3 c.)
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, broken up
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in large saucepan.
    Gradually stir in evaporated milk and water.
    Add chocolate; cook and stir over medium heat until chocolate is melted and mixture boils. Stir in vanilla.
    Pour into baked crust.
    Chill for 3 hours before serving.
    Serve with meringue or whipped topping.
