Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium green tomatoes
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1/2 c. fine dry cracker crumbs or bread crumbs
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes 1/2-inch thick.
    Mix egg with salt and pepper. Dip tomatoes into crumbs, then into egg.
    Dip into crumbs again. Fry in small amount of oil until browned on both sides.
