German Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. soda
    2/3 c. each: cherry, apricot, pineapple preserves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. pecans
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream together butter, sugar and eggs.
    Sift together flour and spices.
    Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk to which soda has been added.
    Fold in the preserves, vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into greased and floured angel food pan.
    Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325\u00b0.
    Cool; top with caramel icing.
