Old Recipe Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. sliced, ripe tomatoes
    6 onions, sliced fine
    8 Tbsp. sugar
    2 springs parsley
    20 whole cloves or 15 peppercorns
    4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    6 Tbsp. butter
    6 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. water
    whipped cream
Preparation
    Boil tomatoes, onions, sugar, parsley, cloves, salt and pepper until vegetables are thoroughly cooked; strain.
    Add milk and butter.
    Dissolve cornstarch with water and add also.
    Boil until slightly thickened.
    Serve with tablespoon of whipped cream.
