Chocolate Caramel Nut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
    1 German chocolate cake mix with pudding
    1/2 c. margarine, melted
    1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In medium saucepan, melt caramels with 1/3 cup of evaporated milk over low heat, stirring until smooth. Set aside.
    In large bowl, mix remaining milk, cake mix and margarine.
    Press 1/2 of cake mixture into the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
    Bake for 8 minutes.
    Remove and sprinkle chocolate chips and 1 cup of nuts over crust.
    Top with caramel mixture, spreading to edges of pan.
    Top this with teaspoons of remaining nuts.
    Bake for 16 to 18 minutes.
    Cool and cut into squares.
    Makes 24 squares.
