Carolina Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage, grated
    1 medium bell pepper, minced
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 c. white vinegar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. celery seed
    2/3 c. vegetable oil
Preparation
    Grate cabbage.
    Add onion and pepper; toss together in a large bowl.
    Mix the sugar, salt, mustard and celery seed in a small saucepan.
    Add vinegar and oil; let come to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    Pour over cabbage; toss well.
    Allow to cool to room temperature in a nonporous container, then cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
