Italian Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 1/2 c. chopped onions
    1 (32 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
    1/3 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. oregano leaves
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 to 5 medium potatoes, sliced thinly and peeled
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Preparation
    About 1 1/2 hours before serving, in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef and onions until onions are tender (about 10 minutes), stirring occasionally.
    Add spaghetti sauce, water, salt, basil, oregano leaves, sugar and pepper; cook 2 more minutes to blend flavors.
    In 13 x 9-inch baking dish, evenly spoon 1/3 of meat mixture; arrange one-half of potatoes on top.
    Repeat layering, ending with meat mixture.
    Cover dish tightly with foil.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for one hour or until potatoes are fork-tender.
    Remove foil; sprinkle evenly with Mozzarella cheese; bake 10 minutes or until cheese melts.
    Let stand 10 minutes for easier cutting. Makes 8 servings.
