Italian Rice And Peas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas
    2 c. water
    1 c. uncooked regular rice
    2 oz. cooked, smoked ham
    1 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Saute onion in margarine until tender.
    Stir in remaining ingredients except cheese.
    Heat to a boil, stirring once or twice.
    Reduce heat, cover and continue to simmer 14 additional minutes without lifting cover to stir.
    Remove from heat and fluff rice lightly with a fork.
    Cover again and let steam 5 to 10 minutes.
    Stir in cheese lightly with a fork.
