Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak (1 1/2-inches thick)
    salt and pepper
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. thyme
    1/2 stick butter
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1 large onion, thin sliced
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 c. beef broth
    1 c. chicken broth
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper.
    Combine flour and thyme. Dredge steak in the mixture.
    Pound the mixture in with a meat pounder.
    Let steak stand for 30 minutes and pound in any remaining flour mixture.
