Buttermilk Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. butter
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour (heaping)
    lemon extract to taste
Preparation
    Heat buttermilk and butter in top of double boiler.
    Mix flour, sugar and beaten eggs (yolks only).
    Stir hot buttermilk into mixture and return to stove and cook until thickened.
    Pour into raw crust and bake until crust is done and filling firm. Cover with egg white meringue and brown in oven.
    This is a delicious cream pie made often by my paternal grandmother who died in August 1941 at the age of 91.
    She used buttermilk from home churned butter.
