Irene'S Tomato Aspic Ring - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 envelope gelatin, unflavored
    1/4 c. cold water
    2 c. tomato juice
    2 bay leaves
    dash of cayenne pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1 stalk celery, chopped
    4 tsp. grated onion or 1/2 onion, chopped
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Soften gelatin in cold water; mix tomato juice, bay leaves, salt, celery, onions and cayenne.
    Simmer 10 minutes.
    Strain. Dissolve gelatin thoroughly in hot tomato mixture.
    Add vinegar and lemon juice; turn into a 1 1/2-quart ring mold.
    Chill until firm.
    Serves 6 to 8.
