Johnnie'S Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
3 heaping Tbsp. cocoa, dissolved in 3/4 c. hot water (let cool)
2 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. sour cream or buttermilk
1 tsp. soda (beat into buttermilk until it becomes foamy)

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, chocolate mixture, buttermilk and soda.
Add flour last.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
Makes 12 servings.
