Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. each: cinnamon and nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    4 c. pared, finely cut apples
    1 c. whole bran cereal
Preparation
    Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
    Blend butter and sugar, beating until fluffy.
    Add eggs and beat well. Stir in apples, bran cereal and sifted dry ingredients.
    Spread in well-greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 40 minutes. When cool, spread with frosting.
