Iowa Steak Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped carrots
    1 c. chopped celery
    4 beef bouillon cubes
    2 lb. ground beef or cubed steak
    1 Tbsp. cooking oil (optional)
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. flour
    10 oz. pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
    2 c. cut up tomatoes
    2 Tbsp. snipped parsley
    2 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet
    1 to 2 tsp. dried basil
Preparation
    Brown meat in oil; cook onion, carrots and celery in 8 cups of water. Add bouillon cubes, meat and garlic powder. Mix butter and flour with 1 cup liquid. Add and cook, stirring until bubbling. Add remaining ingredients and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer until vegetables are tender.
