Gingersnaps - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 scant tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar together; work in egg and molasses. Sift dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture.
Roll dough into walnut-sized balls.
Dip one side in sugar.
Place sugar side up on wax paper lined cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
Do not overbake.
