Grandmother'S Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    4 c. flour
    2 c. blackberry jam with seeds
    2 c. raisins
    2 c. black walnuts
    6 eggs, beaten separately
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. English walnuts
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter together; add egg yolks and mix well. Add blackberry jam.
    Add cinnamon, nutmeg, soda and baking powder to flour.
    Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to cake mixture.
    Add chopped nuts and raisins.
    Last, fold in the beaten egg whites.
    The batter will be very stiff (may have to use hands to mix ingredients).
