Sour Cream Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    red and green decorating sugar
Preparation
    Combine first three ingredients.
    Beat until light and fluffy. Stir in sour cream and vanilla, mixing well.
    Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture, beating well.
    Chill dough at least 1 hour.
    Divide dough into thirds and work with 1/3 at a time.
    Refrigerate extra dough. Roll out dough onto lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness. Press out with cookie cutter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
