Southern Fried Ham With Red Eye Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. cured ham, sliced medium thick
    2 Tbsp. lard
Preparation
    Place lard and ham in cold iron skillet; cover and cook slowly over medium heat for 20 minutes, turning frequently.
    Remove lid. Cook 5 minutes longer.
    Remove ham; drain.
    Add to drippings 1 cup cold water.
    Bring to a boil; pour over ham.
    Serve immediately with hot, homemade biscuits.
    Serves 4.
