Pecan Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. cream (evaporated)
    2 Tbsp. white syrup
    1 lb. dates
    1 lb. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Bring sugar, cream and syrup to soft ball over slow fire or in double boiler.
    Add dates and return to fire, stirring constantly, until dates are dissolved.
    Remove from fire and add nuts and vanilla.
    Form in rolls any size desired.
    Place in refrigerator until hard.
    Then roll in finely chopped nuts or powdered sugar. Slice and serve.
