Jane'S Chili(Good!) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. pinto beans
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
    1 clove minced garlic or garlic salt
    1 tsp. chili powder
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes, cut up
    1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
Preparation
    Put beans in 9 cups of water with 1 teaspoon of salt.
    Bring to a boil; reduce to simmer and cook for 1 3/4 hours.
    Save 1 1/2 cups of liquid.
    Cook meat with vegetables until they are tender. Drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients; simmer for 3 hours.
    You can use a crock-pot, if desired.
    Serves 15 to 20 people.
