Date Fingers - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. Rice Krispies

Preparation

Melt butter.
Add sugar, egg, dates and nuts.
Bring slowly to a boiling point.
Turn to low and allow to cook 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add vanilla and Rice Krispies.
Cool and shape into small portions about the size of a little finger.
Roll in fine grated coconut.
I dye the coconut red and green for the holidays.
