Baked Macaroni And Cheese - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 or 8 oz. elbow macaroni
3 qt. boiling water
2 Tbsp. flour
1 c. water
1/2 lb. sharp cheese, grated
4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. butter
1 c. evaporated milk
1 egg, beaten
Preparation

Drop macaroni into the rapidly boiling water.
Add 3 teaspoons salt and cook rapidly for 8 to 20 minutes or until tender.
Turn into colander to drain.
Run
hot water through to rinse well. Melt butter; blend in flour and add milk and water.
Stir over direct heat until sauce boils and thickens, then stir in egg, salt and grated cheese and stir until cheese is melted.
Arrange macaroni and cheese sauce in layers in a buttered casserole dish. Bake in a moderate oven at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese sauce is toasted.
Yields 5 servings.
