White Clam Sauce With Linguini - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 c. olive oil
    1/2 c. butter
    3 doz. fresh clams, chopped
    1 c. clam juice
    3 Tbsp. parsley, finely chopped
    salt to taste
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1 tsp. oil or butter
    1 lb. linguini
    1/2 c. dry sherry or Chablis
Preparation
    Saute garlic in 1/2 cup olive oil and 1/2 cup butter until golden.
    Add clams, clam juice, parsley, salt and lemon juice. Simmer 5 minutes.
    Put 1 teaspoon oil or butter in water.
    Bring to boil.
    Add linguini and cook 6 minutes.
    Drain linguini; place on platter.
    Pour wine into simmering sauce.
    Cook 1 more minute and pour over linguini.
    Serves 8.
