Kugelhupp(German Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sweet butter (1/2 lb.)
    2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    4 egg whites, beaten stiff
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3 c. sifted flour (sifted 3 times)
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. cold milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Blend butter, sugar, yolks and lemon juice.
    Add flour, baking powder and salt, adding milk slowly.
    Into this fold egg whites. Pour batter into greased and floured tube pan.
    Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350\u00b0.
    Check to see if cake is done by inserting cake tester.
    If no dough adheres, it is.
    Turn out immediately.
