Bran Buttermilk Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. bran flake cereal with raisins
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Cream together sugar, shortening and egg until light and fluffy.
    Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt; stir in bran cereal.
    Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
    Stir just until combined.
    Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven for 18 to 20 minutes.
