Mom'S Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. white sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. applesauce
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
3 c. (scant) flour

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening; add beaten eggs and applesauce. Add flour, spices, salt, soda, raisins and nuts.
Mix well.
Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
