Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ham or sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
    2 medium onions, chopped
    3 stalks celery, chopped
    1 large bell pepper, chopped
    2 c. raw rice
    1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
    1 bay leaf
    dash of thyme
    dash of oregano
    salt to taste
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    chopped parsley
Preparation
    Brown hamburger or ham lightly and cook out some of the grease.
    Remove meat from fat and pour off excess grease.
    In remaining grease saute chopped onions, celery and bell pepper until onion is clear.
    Add raw rice, tomatoes, bay leaf, thyme, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic and water to cover.
    Cover and cook slowly until rice is done, being careful not to let it stick. Sprinkle top with chopped parsley before serving.
