Fried Okra - cooking recipe

1 lb. okra
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation

Wash okra; trim ends and slice while still damp. Roll okra in cornmeal with salt. Heat oil in frying pan. Add okra; cook on medium heat until brown, stirring often.
