Scripture Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 1/2 c. flour
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. raisins
2 c. figs
2 c. nuts
1/2 c. milk
3 tsp. honey
6 eggs
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
spices to suit taste
your favorite coconut icing

Preparation

Cream together butter and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix flour, soda and baking powder.
Add alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Bake in layers at 350\u00b0 until a toothpick comes out clean.
Ice cake when cool.
