Mock Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pastry for 2 crust pie
    36 Ritz crackers
    2 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    butter or margarine
    cinnamon
Preparation
    Roll crust and fit to pie pan.
    Break crackers coarsely into the pie shell. Combine water, sugar and cream of tartar in saucepan and boil gently for 15 minutes.
    Add lemon juice.
    Cool. Pour syrup over crackers.
    Dot generously with butter.
    Sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Put top crust on.
    Seal edges.
    Cut slits.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
