Pfeffernuesse - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
1/4 tsp. anise flavoring
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cardamon
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 c. chopped almonds
1/2 c. chopped citron
powdered sugar
Preparation

Cream the butter, anise flavoring and sugars.
Blend in egg. Add flour, salt and spices.
Blend thoroughly.
Stir in chopped almonds and citron.
Chill in refrigerator a few hours.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls using about a teaspoon of dough for each. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool a few minutes.
Roll in powdered sugar.
