Applesauce Cake With Raisins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten well
    1 c. raisins
    1/3 c. pecans (I use 1 c.)
    2 c. flour (all-purpose)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 c. applesauce
    1/2 tsp. maple flavor or Mapleine
Preparation
    Sift flour, spices and soda together. Cream Crisco; beat in eggs, sugar, nuts and raisins (that have been cooked in small amount of water, approximately 1/3 cup and 1/3 cup sugar called for in recipe). Add flour and applesauce alternately. Cook in tube pan for 1 hour at 300\u00b0; let cool.
    Ice with Burnt Sugar Icing.
