Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 c. raisins, chopped (optional)
    1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
    1 c. thick applesauce
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Mix raisins and nuts with dry ingredients.
    In separate bowl, cream the butter.
    Add sugar slowly; keep mixing.
    Add egg.
    Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, alternating with applesauce.
    Mix well after each addition and turn into greased loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
