Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    2 c. strong vinegar
    1 box pickling spice
Preparation
    Wash beets; leave 6 inches of tops.
    Boil in water until you can remove the skin.
    Let beets cool; peel off skin.
    Put beets in boiling mixture for 10 minutes or so.
    Put beets in jars; pour mixture over beets and seal jars.
    Process 10 minutes.
