Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter
1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sifted flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. chopped nuts
5 egg whites, beaten
Preparation

Cream butter, oil and sugar. Add egg yolks, one at a time; sift soda and flour. Add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla, coconut and nuts. Fold in beaten egg whites. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch sheet pan. Bake 45 minutes at 325\u00b0. Cool before frosting. Cake may also be baked in 3 greased and floured 8 or 9-inch layer pans for 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
