Applesauce Donuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. applesauce
4 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
sugar (to roll donuts in)
Preparation

Sift first 6 ingredients.
Stir baking soda into applesauce (make sure your bowl is about a 1-quart size).
Beat eggs well. Gradually add sugars and oil, beating well.
Beat in applesauce and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternating with milk, mixing well.
Drop by tablespoon into hot oil (375\u00b0).
Turn when half done. Drain on paper towel. Roll in sugar.
Makes 5 dozen.
