Popcorn Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 qt. popped corn (14 c.)
    1 c. sugar
    2/3 c. Karo syrup
    2/3 c. water
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine sugar, syrup, water, butter and salt. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until hard ball stage (254\u00b0).
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Slowly pour syrup over large bowl of popcorn.
    Toss until coated.
    With buttered fingers, quickly shape into 16 balls.
