Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    1/2 tsp. salt
    8 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. vanilla
    whipped cream
Preparation
    Beat 2/3 cup sugar into egg yolks.
    Place in saucepan.
    Add salt; stir in milk.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until milk is scalded.
    Cool.
    Beat egg whites until foamy. Combine 6 tablespoons sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.
    Add to egg whites gradually, beating to soft peaks.
    Fold into milk mixture; mix thoroughly.
    Add vanilla.
    Chill for 3 to 5 days to develop flavor.
    Pour into punch bowl and dot with whipped cream.
