Peggy'S Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    okra
    1 egg
    1/4 c. milk
    pinch of salt
    shake of pepper
    1 c. cornmeal
Preparation
    Wash okra.
    Leave small pods whole.
    Cut large pods into 12-inch slices.
    Beat egg and milk together.
    Add salt and pepper. Pour mixture over okra.
    Shake gently into a bag containing cornmeal.
    Fry slices in hot fat until golden brown (4 to 7 minutes).
